“We’re excited to host our second job fair in the Gadsden area,” said Fitzgerald Washington, Secretary of the Department of Labor. “We have recruited a variety of employers to participate in the job fair and all of them have available jobs to fill – it’s one of our requirements to participate. There are opportunities in health care, law enforcement, manufacturing, and many more. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for a job or looking for a change in career.”
Applicants should come to the job fair with multiple copies of their résumés. They should be prepared to interview and should be dressed professionally.
Three Employability Skills Seminars will be held to help prospective employees prepare for the job fair. Topics include: résumé preparation, interview skills, and how to dress for success. The seminars will be held on Monday, August 13 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Gadsden Career Center, located at 216 North 5th Street, and on Tuesday, August 14, at 8 a.m. onsite at the Gadsden Downtown Civic Center, located at 623 Broad St.
The Alabama Career Center System’s mobile career center along with staff from the Gadsden Career Center will be onsite at the job fair to assist jobseekers in applying for jobs.
