Alabama Career Center System to Sponsor 2017 Alabama Young Professionals Summit

BIRMINGHAM – The Alabama Career Center System is the presenting sponsor for the 2017 Alabama Young Professionals Summit, held annually in Birmingham. The Summit will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Regions Field. This is the third annual conference.

The purpose of the conference is to connect young professionals and community and business leaders in order to foster relationships, build connections, and maximize impact in both organizations and communities.

“The Alabama Career Center System is proud to be the presenting sponsor for this summit,” said Fitzgerald Washington, Secretary of the Alabama Department of Labor, which manages the Alabama Career Center System. “It is our mission to connect employers and jobseekers in order to ensure that all Alabamians are aware of the services afforded them through our workforce exchange system. This is a great opportunity to bring employers together, some of whom may be new to their positions and unaware of the various opportunities of which they may be able to take advantage.”

Topics expected to be discussed at the summit include:
• Innovating Birmingham – experiences from innovators in Birmingham
• Founders: Building Awesome Organizations – perspectives from successful businesses and organizations
• Career Center Services for Employers – resources for employers, including tax credit information and recruitment services
• Creating the Bank of the Future – how the banking industry is changing
• Building a Social Brand… Personal and Business – how to build a successful online presence
• Legal Rebels for a Cause – impactful ways to utilize a law degree

Secretary Washington will give opening remarks. The Keynote Speaker is business author Alex Banayan, who was named to Forbes “Top 30 Under 30” and one of the “Most Powerful People in Finance” by Business Insider.
