Registration Open for Labor Market Information Training

MONTGOMERY – The Alabama Department of Labor’s Labor Market Information Division is offering training to help workforce professionals better use Labor Market Information (LMI) to assist their customers. The training is available to Educators, economic developers, local planners, career counselors, or anyone who is involved in workforce development and planning.

The training will introduce key data sources and tools used to support state and regional workforce development strategies, and participants will gain exposure to a variety of economic, demographic, and workplace data. The training will help workforce professionals understand and effectively use data by organizing the agenda around three scenarios that they see on a regular basis. These scenarios involve a job seeker, a mass layoff, and a new company. Topics include census data analysis, the Alabama LMI website, longitudinal employer data, Bureau of Labor Statistics data, and more.

Each training session will last one and a half days and is offered at nine sites across the state. The sessions begin on June 11 and end on August 23.

The training is free, but space is limited and registration is required. Registration deadline is May 25. Please email with questions or to sign up. The registration form is available online at:
