To Federal Employees unemployed as a direct result of the Federal Government Shutdown:

• Upon returning to work, cease filing weekly claims certifications. This will prevent further payments of unemployment compensation benefits.
  
  
• Continue to monitor your mail as we may send you requests for additional information. You will need to read any request mailed to you and follow the instructions contained within that correspondence.
   
  
• Please note: If you have already received a payment of unemployment compensation benefits and either have or will receive wages from your employer covering the same period, you will be responsible for repaying the unemployment compensation benefits received. A notice of this overpayment with further instructions will be mailed to you when the overpayment is assessed.
